Andi McDaniel

Andi McDaniel is a journalist, writer and multimedia producer.  She is currently a multimedia web producer for Twin Cities Public Television and produces radio segments for MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds, a Minnesota history project. McDaniel has held positions as a multimedia journalist in commercial television, a host/reporter for public radio, a magazine editor and a freelance writer.  In 2009, she traveled to Guatemala and Nicaragua for Round Earth Media, covering stories on youth gangs and Mayan rock and roll for national programs on public radio.  Her articles have appeared in Mother Jones, Orion, Utne Reader, the Washington Post and The New York Times Magazine. McDaniel has a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Journalism at University of California-Berkeley.

Prior to venturing into journalism, McDaniel worked as a program associate for the non-profit Renewing the Countryside. She also tried her hand as a firefighter in Helena National Forest, an organic farm apprentice in Virginia and Minnesota, and a bilingual substitute teacher in Chicago.
